Who we are

Collaborative living and Development Initiative (COLIDEIN) formed in December 2013 and registered in February 2015, as a non-profit organization, with the Corporate Affairs Commission. The vision for COLIDEIN stems from the passion to serve as a change agent in promoting sustainable development in our various communities through partnerships and collaborative actions. Our thematic areas are in Livelihood support (through Agriculture and Entrepreneurship), Governance and Conflict management.

In COLIDEIN we understand the importance of sustainable development in every sphere of life as judicious use and management of both human and natural resources would ensure continuity in the future. We know sustainable development is that development which provides for the present needs and leaves resources for future generation without short changing them. Moreover, it promotes development of the people by the people and for the people thereby making it participatory and inclusive to ensure ownership by the people.

Through this Initiative, we intend to promote sustainable development through collaborative efforts in the society by increasing awareness of and enhancing people’s capacity to make informed decisions about life, development, livelihood. lifestyle changes and the way forward. Our main vehicle would be through education, capacity development, advocacy and research.

Although Collaborative Living and Development Initiative (COLIDEIN) is young, its key personnel have several years’ cumulative consultancy and field experience in development research, project management, consultancy & capacity building, enterprise development, micro- credit, conflict management, good governance and accountability in both the profit and non-profit organization especially in the Niger Delta Region.
